A long a quiet road in a rural area, a vehicle “took off like a bat out of hell”, left in the dust behind was a scared German Shepherd. This isn’t an unusual occurrence along this country road, ignorant people somehow think dogs can survive or probably they just don’t care.
“She appeared at my front gate this morning asking for help”, fortunately she knew to ask for help. We were contacted by the family who lives along the country road; they now have 11 dogs and can’t take in another. The family named her Liberty because she came to them on the 4th of July. She quickly made herself at home and was good with a 9 year old child and a 14 year old. It was soon discovered how much Liberty LOVES BALLS. She had one big special ball she loved so much, so the people who saved her sent one along with her so when she is adopted she will have something from them. Liberty is very sweet, gentle and playful. She was bred and then once the pups were sold or maybe they kept one to replace her she was abandoned. Liberty is almost a puppy herself, she adjusted well to life with the family for a week until we got her. Some dogs, just like people are resilient and thrive no matter what life throws in their path. Liberty is now at our kennel, she is good with the other dogs. So many people are so afraid to take a dog who has suffered at all: they think some how it will affect their personality. Liberty is wonderful and deserves not to be burdened with what was done to her. She deserves a wonderful and loyal family.
